Today I wrote 3,340/5K – my lowest day yet. I’m at 19,638/25,000 for the week. That’s a good chunk of book written. I’m super proud of myself. 😀
That last chapter was a bear, but it’s done!
Today was another snow day and I got started way late. I’m glad I finished the chapter, though, because I have a bunch of writing on other things I want to do this weekend and I ended in a good place.
I’ve got one more chapter to write for Part I, which I will hopefully write completely on Monday. It’s another long one, but I have to get all of this backstory in or Part II won’t make as much sense. I’m laughing to myself about the length of the chapters in this book because they are three times the length of my usual chapters. This book is chock full o’ happenings. 😛
When I finish Part I, I’m going to complete my worksheets for Act II and work out all the beats and scenes. That may take a part of or all of my writing time for that day. (Hopefully Tuesday.)
We’re officially on Winter Break now, so here’s when I’ve got to practice patience with the kids and help them understand that they have to leave me the hell alone unless they are dying or the house is on fire. They are almost 8, and 10 and can make themselves a sandwich. Plus, there’s YouTube in the world, so whatever. (Seriously, my kids come in for kisses and cuddles multiple times a day. I’m a nice mama who gets her boundaries charged through all the time.)
I’m completely off the drugs, which is excellent for my brain. I did get super worn out walking around the grocery store today, so I guess I’m not 100% yet. Gawd. This body used to run for miles and CrossFit and do yoga and all manner of activities and walking around the grocery store was hard.
I suppose I’m going to need to practice patience with myself as well.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll be back on Monday boring you to tears with the minutiae of novel writing.
I’m off to watch Love Actually with the hubs in bed while eating M&M’s meant for cookie decorating.
