True Confessions Blog Hop – The Losing IT Authors Tell All!

Confession:  I have two.

1. I never wait until the final novel in my trilogies or series for the love interests to get it on.

2. Nothing bad ever happens to my characters because they have sex. (I ruin their lives in pretty much every other way possible, though. Ha!)

I made these rules up for my writing after reading Twilight. I devoured those books in no small part because I could not wait for Bella and Edward to do it.  (I know I’m not the only one – there would be no #FSOG otherwise!) And then all the horizontal action goes down in two pages and she gets knocked up with Nessie. WHA????

I mean, damn, when their world is falling down around them and their lives are going to hell, I think the least I can do for my characters is let them enjoy having safe, consensual sex.

In the case of Penny and Wyatt from Found (Penny Black #1) Penny is the experienced one and Wyatt is the virgin. Although, they both have the usual worries that lead up to getting naked with someone new. In the novel I give you the before and after and, the uh, climax is glossed over – because it is an upper YA novel after all – but for my short story in the Losing It collection, I’ve filled in the awkward, sweet, fun, and sexy middle.

I hope you enjoy it! From my dirty mind to yours…

  1. Do you know… I never could bring myself to read FSoG. After hearing such love/hate reviews from every single friend, I just ended up having zero interest in taking part in the drama. I’m sure I can spare two hours of my life to the movie, though. I’ll wait for it to get to video though. There’s no way I’m going to watch it in a theatre full of peopl!!! 😛

  2. I probably won’t go see it, as I don’t have any friends that would go with me. My hubby said he would, but I just don’t know about that! LOL
I did read all of the books though!
