#ROW80 update

Sometimes, I just have to laugh.

At myself.

For an extended period of time.

What did I say in that last ROW80 post? The one I wrote two days ago?

Wasn’t I supposed to be starting on the next DoS story?

Okay, enough with the rhetorical questions. 🙂

I’ve thought about DoS, but I’ve been outlining a stand-alone contemporary YA novel.

I always seem to have inspiration for a new WIP when I decide to work on another WIP.

So be it.  I want to work on this new book so much that I stayed up all night thinking about it.

It’s going to be a challenge because it’s about things I don’t know about. There will be actual research required. Ha!

My plan is to get the rest of the outline for that book done today and then hopefully on Sunday I can report having done some work on Takeover. I’m thinking if I can get the new book out of my head, I will be able to get back on track.

Here’s hoping you all haven’t derailed two days in. 🙂

  1. Just the act of reporting in keeps you one track or another! It’s all progress. I’m probably going to check in around 11:59 p.m. with hopes that I get a whole lot done today to report! Best wishes!

  2. You know, the last “stand alone” story I got stuck in my head turned out to be a series. So be prepared!!

    Good luck with your goals!

  3. You’re so funny. :0)

You have to write what feels right. If it feels right to do this other project, then that’s what you should do. Or do both…when one kicks your butt, work on the other one. LOL

  4. I relate. I so do not want to follow my plan.
Contemporary YA sounds really exciting. I love paranormal, but I worry that we’ve swung way too far in that direction. Katie Klein’s “Cross My Heart” is in my now-debilitating TBR pile, and I loved Jennifer Lauren’s “Overprotected.” What really interests me are the writers who tackle contemporary “issues” in engaging ways. Cindy Bennett’s “Heart on a Chain” has been on bestseller lists for forever, and she’s an Indie. She writes @ abuse and mental illness. I know me, though, and I’d have to struggle not to be too heavy-handed.
Whatever you do, I know it’ll be awesome. ‘Cause you just are.

  5. If it makes you feel any better, I haven’t even decided what my goals are or written a post about it, much less a check-in post for yesterday. So it’s not like you’re as behind as you could be. I think I’m bringing up the rear 😀
