I’ve been freezing my butt off in my office all day long working, but not writing. I signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) yesterday and plan on completing Rebellion at the very least, and possibly two more DoS stories for NaNo in November. So, no writing on Rebellion…and lots of time to think. What has my noodle been noodling about today, you ask? Book marketing. BLAH. I know, who wants to think about that? Besides, uh, book marketers.
After following the esteemed advice of the Indie Book Collective, I attempted to up my relevent tweets on Twitter today. (Say that five times fast.) While I didn’t feel like I was spamming, I did feel pressure to be witty and engaging. Again, BLAH. I have no desire to feel that pressure everyday. I’m going to keep trying, but I have to admit that I don’t love twitter when I can’t be myself. The myself that doesn’t worry about selling and can just shoot the shit in 140 characters or less. Twitter marketing may just not be for me.
The conclusion that I came to is that the marketing I do enjoy doing pretty much consists of blabbing on Goodreads and giveaways. Therefore, I’m combining the two and announcing another “event” on Goodreads. I’m going to be giving away e-book review copies of Glimpse and Glimmer. The deal being that, if you haven’t read Glimpse, I’ll send you the coupon code for it and if you review it on Barnes and Noble or Amazon or both, I’ll send you the code for Glimmer. If you’ve read Glimpse, I’ll send you the code for Glimmer and hope that you will review it on Goodreads, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, or Amazon.
If you are interested in participating in this event, but aren’t on Goodreads, just talk at me here in the comments and we’ll work something out.
If you want to read Glimpse, Glimmer, and Day of Sacrifice, but don’t want to have to write a review you can go here and enter to win all three at Zombiepalooza.
See what happens when I think all day long? You guys get free books! 🙂
